Summer camp is a camp where the Scouts get to leave home for a week and achieve a few merit badges.  This year, the Troop is going to Camp Alexander in Colorado.  Camp Alexander is located in the beautiful Elevenmile Canyon in the Pike National Forest approximately 45 miles west of Colorado Springs, and two miles south of Lake George, in Park County, Colorado. Camp Alexander is between 8200 and 8600 feet elevation. The camp area consists of hills, low mountains, and valleys covered by a mix of Ponderosa pine forests, high-altitude grasslands, and wetland vegetation along the lake and stream. There is abundant wildlife including black bears, raccoons, skunks, rabbits, squirrels, deer, elk, coyotes, snakes, and bald eagles.  If you would like to know more about the camp, please visit their webpage at

MEDICAL FORMS:  **If medical forms are not completed properly/fully, your child will not be admitted to summer camp.  This is a BSA rule**

-Everyone will need to submit a medical form.

-Everyone will need to get a physical by a doctor.  The doctor must fill out Part C of the form.  (No other physical forms are accepted.)  Please note that your doctor will also need to sign Part B, Page 3, above Immunizations if you want your Scout to take over the counter medications.  (Tylenol, Benedryl, etc.)  This is a Colorado law. If this is not signed, your Scout will not be given any OTCs.  This means, if you child is stung by a bee, they cannot give him Benedryl.

-All adult leaders will need classroom YPT before being allowed into the camp.

-You will need to attach a copy of your insurance card to the form.

-Please write Trained Adult Leader from Troop 0129 in the area of Part A asking for Adults allowed to transport Scout.

-All forms MUST BE turned into Mrs. Carlisle by the week before summer camp.  (If you want to be as helpful as possible, upload the form to Troop Track, make a copy and give Mrs. Carlisle two copies of the medical form.)

The troop will be leaving at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.  Scouts are required to bring their trunks/sleeping bags to the church on Friday night.  A time will be determined at a later date.  SM Hurta is planning to leave by 6:00 a.m.  All paperwork needs to be turned into Mrs. Carlisle the week before.  Please understand that ALOT of work goes into planning summer camp.  Please try to get payments and paperwork in on time.  Please meet all deadlines that are given.

The troop will be stopping at Jack Bryant Scout Center in Amarillo, Texas Saturday evening.  They will continue on Sunday morning to Camp Alexander in Colorado.
